Edmond Hoyle was a man who “made the rules”.  Hoyle was an English barrister, writer and gentleman, best known as an expert on the rules and strategies of various card games. 

A speaker may use the phrase “According To Hoyle” to reference something that follows the rules or established procedures.

We love menswear, for the very fact that there are guidelines. There are rules that govern how clothes should fit if you want them to last. This blog is devoted to the study of these rules and the history of menswear. Of course . . . some rules are meant to be broken, and that’s where personal style comes in to play.
